Your Job as a Yoga Therapist:

The Yoga Therapist plans, coordinates and directs patient participation in selected activities within the Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital setting. Provides treatment services and recreational therapy services using a variety of yoga-related techniques.

Essential Functions as a Yoga Therapist:

• Lead yoga classes for patrients of varying skill levels
• Create and deliver engaging and safe yoga sessions
• Provide guidance on proper form and breathing techniques
• Develop personalized yoga programs for clients
• Creates an environment that allows the patient to explore his/her own potential, cultivate positive morale and minimize distress.
• Assesses patients using information from observations, medical records, standardized assessments, the medical staff, and the patient themselves.
• Develops and implements therapeutic interventions consistent with the clients’ needs and interests.
• Performs patient care in accordance with identified needs and established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Evaluates patient’s response to interventions. Modifies treatment plan appropriately.
• Works in conjunction or collaboration with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and social workers.
• Documents in accordance with established policies and procedures.

This position is for weekday shifts with varying hours based on the needs of the facility, allowing you to enjoy a great work/life balance. Daily schedule to be discussed.

Your Skills and Qualifications as a Recreation Therapist:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Rec Therapy, or related field required
• Master's degree preferred
• 3 years experience in recreation in a healthcare setting required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Certified Yoga Instructor preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
